step 2: as of 2012/02/22, yum -y install openstack-nova-node-full also brings in euca2ools and python-novaclient

step 3: you need to start the mysql server and to create the initial mysql passwd:
service mysqld start
mysqladmin -u root password rootpassword

before running the script
....
which is failing with:
