Graylog Collector: collector.utils.CollectorId - No node ID file found #86

@ricardoklein

Description

@ricardoklein

Default config does not set collector-id file correctly on CentOS

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Install the rpm file from graylog repos
  2. Follow instructions on https://github.com/Graylog2/collector README.md

How to solve

I dont know if its more correct to change the README.md instructions or set the collector-id file on the RPM binary to somewhere else, but I was only able to run the collector when:

  • added this to /etc/graylog/collector/collector.conf: collector-id = "file:/etc/graylog/collector/collector-id"
  • Set permissions to graylog-collector user to write on /etc/graylog
