There have been a few reports of this. Could you check your Windows Security settings and see if unchecking Block apps helps, and if anything shows up when you click Protection History? Let me know if this or anything in this area solves the problem, thanks. |

Hi,
I just double checked, Potentially unwanted app blocking is turned off on my device. Plus both block apps and block downloads are not clicked, and nothing relating to graphia is listed in the Protection history.

Hmm OK. In File Explorer, could you navigate to %APPDATA%..\Local\Graphia\Graphia and see if there are any txt files in there, specifically the ones named cerr, cout, stderr, stdout and outputdebugstring. Their contents might be useful; please attach the files or copy and paste their contents. Failing that, open a Command Prompt and try running: ...and see if it outputs anything useful. (By the way please respond on the github discussions page itself rather than email as the latter can get a bit messy.) |

So just to confirm, if you start it from the command line it works, but if you start it from the Start Menu it doesn't? That's super weird. Does it work if you navigate to C:\Program Files\Graphia (or where ever you installed it) and double click Graphia.exe? |

Are you saying it now starts from the Start Menu without a problem, but it didn't before you started it from cmd? |

OK, thanks, at least we have a work around now 👍. I suspect it's probably SmartScreen, Windows Defender or some other protection software interfering in some way, and starting from the command line somehow circumvents whatever is causing the problem. |

I'm having a similar problem. Have just downloaded and installed on WIndows 10. Application crashes during startup - I get a pop-up saying Graphia.exe has crashed. Have found some .dmp files. Have attached attach the earliest one here. Will try the command line approach next, and report back. |

The long application path is because I install my apps idiosyncratically instead of in Program Files. And, having closed the app, it now starts from the shortcut. |

Right so the stack dump is a 0xC0000409 exception, subcode 0x5, which is FAST_FAIL_INVALID_ARG. Basically it's a deliberate self crash because of a "security check", supporting the theory that it's some kind of Windows sub-system that's preventing it from running. The exact line (in Graphia) that crashes is the one that prints the "Loading plugins" message, which when run from a command prompt apparently operates just fine, and then also fine on subsequent non command prompt opens. I'm not sure there's really anything I can do about this besides resuming code signing. |

In theory this should now be fixed, as version 5.3 is once again code signed, thanks to SignPath. |

Downloaded the application as instructed, but when running it there is just nothing popping up, also checked the task manager to see if there is any movement, none detected
