Inconsistency with page "Publishing By Using a Gradle Plugin" on maven central

Maybe I am missing something. But on Central the documentation pages OSSRH Sunset and Publishing By Using a Gradle Plugin do not reference this gradle-nexus plugin.

This plugin uses the previous API, not the new Central Portal.
Sonatype made special staging API: https://central.sonatype.org/publish/publish-portal-ossrh-staging-api/ for the existing scripts to work (with just the URL changed). This may use the Central Portal under the hood (I'm guessing), but the gradle plugins listed on the page you mentioned are acually using the Portal directly.
