Doesn't work when opened from google drive on mobile

I opened the example site on my desktop and mobile device in chrome. I am able to authorize and interact with the rubix cube. When I try to open the file from drive on my mobile device it says, "Can't download; opening in web mode...". The example site shows up but when I click the blue "Authorize for Google Drive" button it says, "Please close this window". I assume that that view doesn't appreciate the popup the website is trying to open. Is there a way to get it to work in this scenario? I am considering creating a google drive app but not being able to open from drive on a mobile device is problematic.
