cant find proc/hd*/media when installing from usb

when I try to install via USB flash drive (or micro-sdcard with usb adapter in my case) it tries to mount CD-ROM instead of the usb then tho the usb is mounted in sd* then fails as it cannot find the files due to CD-ROM not being mounted when it is meant to be mounting my usb instead

We actually attempt at mounting both CD-ROMs and USB devices:

If for some reason none of the mount commands succeed, you are redirected to a rescue Busybox console that lives in the initrd. Are you able to manually mount it from that console? Do you have a corresponding /dev/ entry for that USB?

also assuming i mount the usb correctly will re running the install try to mount again even tho it already mounted?

if you can successfully mount it, then please let me know what you did differently from what's featured in /bin/mountGoboLinux. In that case, in order to proceed with the installation, you may simply run /bin/startGoboLinux to continue with the regular boot process.

do you already have your USB mounted on /Mount/CD-ROM?

'ls /proc/ide' shows only 'drivers ide0/ ide1/' how would i create the nessasary files required to mount at '/proc/ide/hd1/media' (as my sd card would be sdb wich is hd1)

'mount -t vfat /dev/sdb1 /mnt/CD-ROM' returns No such device

mounting without -t gives invalid argument

What do you have under /sys/block/? Is sdb listed at all? How about the output of "fdisk -l"?

If you can somehow send me the output of dmesg and of fdisk -l, that would help a lot. Can you mount another formatted USB device on your machine to save that information on it and then attach the files here?

nothing seems to be working, all attempts of mounting anything in /dev to anywhere writable fail as Invalid argument, No such device, cant find said /dev/* (where * is device name) in fstab, or Not a directory
