Codebox has Font that is unusual/unusable for Code (cherrytree 1.6.2 on Mac/Tahoe 26.1)

The Codebox has non-Typewriter font (not monospace); it rather looks like a font that is imitating handwritten text than the usual coding fonts.

There also is no font selection possibility (which would be a workaround for a code box anyway).

So in the end this code box is unusable for code (at least version 1.6.2 of cherrytree on Mac Tahoe 26.1).

I found the menue Schnittstelle (means Interface) and changed the Font-setting there.
The code looked the same (tested with a new code box).
Again going into the Fontmenue, I found that the old setting was still there (not monospace); selecting a Monospace again, pressing Auswählen (Select) - same thing again.

Then I used the default-Knob in the Interface-Menue and selected the Default (which then selected a Monospace font, at least one with the name that says it's monospace).
Again a new Codebox again created, the font did not changed, even though a different font was selected in the Settings.

Hi @camlfriend I can show you where the control of the font is (but you have already found it if I understood correctly).
I suspect your package is deployed with non default settings and you simply did not have the selected font installed.
The default font is what you found when you clicked the icon.

Thanks for the hint, yes I found that menue.
I can't completely rule out that I may once have played with that setting myself.
So maybe there were defaults installed.
I just think, that code boxes always should have monospaced fonts (not changable). (ymmv)
But not being able to select the font and activate monospaced font again is bad.

What really is strange, is that I can select a font and confirm the selection (and it is shown as selected), but the setting is not used. And when going back to the menue again, it is not active.
But when using the Default-knob the setting is used and acccepted and will be shown, when I go back to settings again... but it still is not in effect.

If the problem is that the font is not available, I guess it would not be available in the selection menue either. And when it is selected would not be accepted silently while the setting not being in effect.
So this looks like a problem with the mechanism that takes the selection and should store and activate it.

I just found out, that the Code-Box allows using it as Textbox and as Codebox with Syntax-Highlighting.
It looks like I have chosen Text, which then showed Text with this (for code) unexpected font.

I tried the Code-Option and selected C, even though I just wanted to display some other code in Typewriter font.
It works regarding the font, but the Highlighting now is unwanted. At least the Text is now displayed correctly regarding monospacing property.

What I expected when selecting Text in the setup of the Codebox, is to get Typewriter-Font but without any Highlighting.
Makes sense for Code for which no Syntax-Highlighting is available (or highlighting is just not wanted).

Instead I got the strange font with the problems regarding changing it, as mentioned above.

Maybe this extra information can help a bit.
