Async Standups That Actually Work—What's Missing to Kill Daily Meetings Forever?

GitScrum is built for async alignment. But most teams still do daily standups because... habit? Fear? Lack of the right feature?

What would it take to make daily standup meetings completely obsolete?

The theory:
Everyone updates their tasks. Everyone reads updates. Nobody needs a meeting.

The reality:

• Devs forget to update until the meeting reminder hits
• Updates are vague: "working on the feature" (what feature? what's blocking you?)
• Nobody reads other people's updates
• Managers want the "vibe check" of hearing voices

What feature would change this?

• Structured daily check-in prompts? ("What did you finish? What's next? What's blocked?")
• Async standup bot that collects updates and surfaces blockers?
• Visual "team pulse" dashboard that shows momentum without reading every update?
• Accountability without surveillance: visibility of progress, not micromanagement?
• Integration with Git commits/PR activity to auto-populate "what I did"?

Critical requirement:
This can't feel like "Big Brother watching." Devs will revolt. It has to create alignment without creating anxiety.

The goal:
Replace the 15-minute daily meeting with 2 minutes of async updates that everyone actually reads.
