Is there a way to completely refresh the DB? After multiple refreshes (which takes forever) acquisition shows me gems in tabs that dont exist

I am not sure if the DB got corrupted somehow, but it simply shows me gems that dont exist.

Since I have a lot of tabs, refreshes take forever (20+ hours), but even after leaving the computer on, something gets wrong and it shows me gems that dont exist in the stash tabs

This is a new one, so thanks for the heads up. Can you answer a few questions to help me troubleshoot?

1. What version did this start happening with?

2. What was the last version that worked and did not do this?

3. How many tabs do you have (once you have more than about a hundred, it can only download about 3 tabs per minute on average).

4. Could you post a screenshot of the gems that don't exist? I'm not sure if you means gems that don't exist in your stash because you've moved them (or never owned them), or gems that don't exist in Path of Exile at all.

I have more questions, but the answer to 1-4 above will help me know which ones to task.

What version did this start happening with?

I have the latest version now.

The problem has started around 0.13.7 or 0.13.8, however I simply was not sure.

Please note: I have been using acqusition for ages - I think I was one of the original people who wrote to you when you started releasing it

What was the last version that worked and did not do this?

Sorry for ambiguous answer, but it worked in the past.
I am not sure if the problem is not caused by the transifured gems, Im not sure

477 tabs and 188 character locations

Most tabs are remove only.

Could you post a screenshot of the gems that don't exist? I'm not sure if you means gems that don't exist in your stash because you've moved them (or never owned them), or gems that don't exist in Path of Exile at all.

The problem is with gems mostly. I did some moving here and there, but I assume that after a refresh it should work;

My ideas:

1. Maybe something "breaks" if I refresh all tabs (takes ages) and use the tool at the same time?

2. Is there a way to clean up the DB to zero and do a complete refresh?

3. acqusition now saves the DB between version upgrades (and very good that it does - since I have so much tabs, it takes forever to refresh), but I wonder if something didnt corrupt somehow

4. One of the original problems that I described to you before was that acquisition was not saving the database for me at all, it only remembered it when the program was on. After closing the database was lost. That was in one of the very old versions (obviously this lead to a horrible experience since every computer restart meant that I would have to refresh all tabs to be able to search). This was repaired in the versions made by you, or maybe even by the previous maintaniner

5. Maybe the "gem" tab is the culprit?

Anyway, today Im making a new character and I was searching for multiple skill gems. I very often encountered a problem that acquistion would tell me that gem X is in tab Y (I often have gems socketed in items), but when I went to that tab - I couldnt find the skill gem.
At first I was thinking that Im making a typo or something, but it happened for like 10 different gems

I think I overestimated the time for a full refresh, it's probably closer to 10 hours

Also I tried typing "Steelskin" in different spellings (at some point I even doubted at myself), but as I wrote above the problem was with multiple gems (Im making a new build and just take old high level gems)

What I can tell is that the gems definitely existed / I owned them. The only possibility is that they were moved. I do a bit of moving here and there sometimes, mostly by putting the whole character gear to a stash and then taking the same gear for other char + changing the gems.
In the past I would refresh all (what takes time of course), but then I could find what I have here - what is the basic functionality of acqustion :-)

My suspcition is: some weird DB corrupt, that maybe could be solved by a complete database wipe - and new refresh from zero.
Alternative is that something bad happens if I start the refresh process and use the program at the same time.

My plan is to run it at night today and see tomorrow if it still shows the steelskin gem in stash tab "weapons".

I'm sorry that this bug is impacting you right now.

One workaround would be to delete or move all the data files before starting acquisition. That will cause it to start completely from scratch. You can then wait for a full refresh, or I believe you can download just the list of tabs, then check only a subset to refresh if you have an idea of where to look.

I have an entire soapbox about the database design for acquisition. It's needed a non-backwards-compatible overhaul for several years because of changes GGG has made to the game and to the API. I'm working on it on the side, but for the last 4 months I've been too busy to make progress.

In this case I recommend moving the existing data folder to a backup location and starting completely from scratch. If you're on windows, it's in a folder like C:\Users\Gerwaric\AppData\Local\acquisition.

You could just move the data folder out from acquisition, or you could move the entire acquisition folder to start with a completely clean slate.

I have renamed the folder in %appdata% and started with a clean state.

After the refresh it again shows the gem there. Im very confused to be honest.

I was expecting some strange database corrupt. You know what, I will refresh again and report. Maybe something did not go correctly since I had a character in game.

The re-appearance of the rogue gem is odd. Is there a chance it's socketed in another piece of equipment in that stash?
