gfmodel format #89

I've been unable to find information anywhere else, so I figured I'd ask here. Is there any documentation on the gfmodel format? Any time I try to look it up, I end up with this or Ohana, neither of which I have been able to get to work (I'm having the same issue as #82). I was wondering if anyone had details on the file format so I could write a small tool to read and convert them to a custom format.
