Missing routine to play compiled files on real ZX Spectrum HW

Would be nice to have also a zx asm to play the compiled songs on the real HW. If I remember correctly there was an assembler routine that played the songs on ZX. I do not see the "FXSM" string in the old fuxoft songs on ZX, is the output compiled by this fxmasm useable also with this routine?

First, I must say that it's many years since I've done something with ZX Spectrum (real hardware or emulator) and I no longer remember all the details. But I will try to answer:

First of all, I am not the author of the FXM format. I think Patrik Rak (Raxoft) created that format but I am not sure. The only reason my fxmasm supports FXM format is because I found that to be the easiest format to play my Spectrum songs on the PC (using S. Bulba's AY_Emul).

Additionally, the FXM format is very similar to the native binary format of my songs on the real Spectrum hardware. FXM format just copies the music data from the memory and add some simple headers and the "FXSM" identifier. (My original songs had no "FXSM" string or any other identifier, they were just raw binary data).

It would be very easy to change fxmasm so that it compiles to native ZX Spectrum format (without additional FXM headers). This data could then be played back by the assembler routine that was originally used on the real ZX Spectrum to play my songs.

By default, fxmasm compiles every songs so that it begins from address $8000 (32768). See the start_addr variable on line 388. All that is needed is to change this address to point to the start address that's hardcoded in your playroutine (usually the address of the first byte right after the playroutine end) and disable adding those specific FXMASM flags and strings. See the FXM documentation here: https://documentation.help/AY-3-8910.12-ZX-Spectrum/documentation.pdf - section "FXM". What you need is only the "DATA BLOCK" section from the FXM file, as described in that documentation. It's exactly identical to the actual data in the ZX Spectrum memory. All you need is to add the playroutine itself. I remember seeing the source code of my playroutine online but now I am unable to find it...

Anyway, I am unable to do this update of fxmasm myself because I have no way to test if it works (because I no longer use Spectrum hardware or Spectrum emulators in any way).
