'when' syntax is too constrained

The syntax of temporal scope is very constrained, as it requires one and only one space around the separators, like /, ..., {}.
Is it possible to make it more permissive, by enabling any number (zero or more) of whitespaces around the temporal separators?

We can certainly respecify this, though given the pushback we've had on other respecifiations (JSON-based configuration, multiple values for parameters) this would be scheduled for a post-project release. We can discuss in Milan.
