basically there was one problem — notification about calls was broken. i have to use the official app on a secondary phone to not miss the calls. but that second error with back closing the app kill the whole idea for me. it makes the app unusable. hotfix (as much as i hate this, general hotfixes (not for some individual devices) should not exist because of issues for them should not exist) isn't available in f-droid. also, the app is not reversible. so it's time. i switch to official app (and anyone should - cause one can install second unit of an app from apk. without island or work account - it has different package name).

i don't know u. maybe u're the good guy/s. but i'm not gonna read the code every time an update is out (if any). and i don't know u. meaning — i don't trust u. it looks fishy to make hotfix not over f-droid (and with different package name. even if i trust u — it is not undemanding to transfer all accounts, then transfer them back). so i'm not installing it at all. no way, if i don't read the code. and i'm not gonna read the code if there is a choice.

also f-droid have big issue. it should not allow apps that are irreversible. and now we know that nobody tests the app before outing the update. and to test the app is much easier than to read the changes in the code, so this also has a big question.

For anyone who reads this in the future.

Each new release of the Forkgram Android on Github is not compiled manually by me, but automatically on GitHub CI servers. Each build has a complete log of the build process, and each run has archives named ForkClient-debug and ForkClient-release, which contain apk files whose sha256 checksums completely match the values published on the GitHub releases page and in the Telegram channel.
This gives users who are interested a complete understanding that no code injection has been performed by third parties, including myself.

As for you, I can finally congratulate you on your complete freedom from this Fork application.

But why hotfix has different package name? I can't install it either, because f-droid still has no updates

Do users of the version from the fdroid repository want to receive updates from third-party sources bypassing the fdroid repository?
I don't think so.
Do we, users of the version from Github releases, want to receive updates with a three-day delay?
No, we don't.
That's why these are two different branches that should not conflict with each other on the same device.

It's as clear as day: if you want to receive versions instantly, use the branch from Github; if you want the trust of fdroid, wait three days.
