-
Launch the Application
- Open the web_sequencer application in a WebGPU-compatible browser
- Ensure hardware acceleration is enabled
-
Enter 3D View
- Look for the "3D VIEW" button in the top header bar
- The button has a cyan accent and is located near the tempo controls
- Click the button to activate 3D mode
-
Navigation in 3D Space
- Use WASD keys to move around the virtual studio
- Use mouse movement to look around
- Space/Shift keys to move up/down
In 3D mode, you'll see a module selector at the top of the hardware rack:
- PART A - Lead Synth (Cyan holographic knobs)
- PART B - Bass Synth (Pink holographic knobs)
- KICK - Kick Drum (Yellow holographic knobs)
- SNARE - Snare Drum (Yellow holographic knobs)
- CLOSED HAT - Closed Hi-Hat (Yellow holographic knobs)
- OPEN HAT - Open Hi-Hat (Yellow holographic knobs)
- SAMPLER - Sample Player (Purple holographic knobs)
- Dark, space-like background with subtle grain
- Horizontal scanning lines moving across the panel
- Each knob glows with its module's accent color
Outer Glow (Halo)
- Soft colored glow extending beyond the knob
- Pulses gently (breathing effect)
- Intensity varies between 80-100%
Data Ring
- Thin dashed circle around each knob
- Rotates slowly clockwise
- Appears as segmented arc, not continuous
- Bright accent color (1.5x normal intensity)
Inner Disc
- Darker center with rim lighting
- Brighter at edges (Fresnel effect)
- Subtle shimmer waves flowing across surface
Needle Indicator
- Shows current parameter value
- White hot center with colored glow
- More visible than in 2D mode
- Extends from center to 60% of radius
Background Effects
- Fine horizontal scanlines (300 lines)
- Move upward continuously
- Create authentic holographic display feel
- Occasional random glitch flashes
- Click "EXIT 3D VIEW" to return
- Clean, professional appearance
- Solid colors, minimal effects
- Good for precision work
- Immersive, futuristic aesthetic
- Animated, glowing effects
- Better for performance/presentation
- More visual feedback
| Module | Color | RGB Values | Visual Impression |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lead Synth | Cyan | (0, 182, 212) | Cool, sharp, cutting |
| Bass Synth | Pink | (236, 72, 153) | Warm, deep, powerful |
| Kick Drum | Yellow | (234, 179, 8) | Punchy, energetic |
| Snare Drum | Yellow | (234, 179, 8) | Bright, crisp |
| Hi-Hats | Yellow | (234, 179, 8) | Shimmering, light |
| Sampler | Purple | (168, 85, 247) | Mysterious, flexible |
If you watch carefully, you'll notice these rhythms:
- Halo Pulse: ~2 seconds per breathing cycle
- Ring Rotation: ~13 seconds per full rotation
- Scanlines: ~0.8 seconds per cycle
- Shimmer: ~0.6 seconds per wave
- Glitch: Random, ~0.4 second intervals
- Lighting: View in a dimly lit room
- Display: Use a high-quality display with good color accuracy
- Browser: Chrome 113+ or Edge 113+ recommended
- GPU: Ensure GPU acceleration is active
- If holographic effects are too intense, use 2D mode
- Keyboard navigation works identically in both modes
- Screen readers function the same in both modes
- All functionality is preserved regardless of visual mode
The holographic effects are purely visual - interaction remains the same:
-
Mouse Control
- Click and drag vertically to adjust value
- Drag up = increase, drag down = decrease
-
Keyboard Control
- Click knob to focus
- Arrow keys to adjust (←↓ decrease, →↑ increase)
- Works on both 2D and 3D modes
-
Mouse Wheel
- Hover over knob
- Scroll to adjust value
- Up = increase, down = decrease
- Verify you're in 3D mode (3D VIEW button active)
- Check browser supports WebGPU
- Ensure hardware acceleration is enabled
- Switch to 2D mode for better performance
- Close other GPU-intensive applications
- Update graphics drivers
- Check display color calibration
- Try different browser
- Verify GPU color settings
To capture the holographic effect:
- Use browser screenshot (Ctrl+Shift+S in Chrome)
- Screen recording software captures animations
- Note: Static images don't show animations
- Video recommended for full effect demonstration
- Click "EXIT 3D VIEW" button (top right of 3D view)
- Or press ESC key
- Returns to standard 2D layout
- Knobs return to standard rendering
- No data or settings are lost
