Lake Island Terrain Integration Summary

Overview

Successfully integrated the Lake Island terrain feature from jules-dev3 branch into jules-dev branch.

Files Changed

  1. src/foliage/lake_features.js (NEW)

    • Creates floating islands with stylized creek paths
    • Uses CandyPresets for materials (Clay for island, SeaJelly for creek)
    • Includes procedural displacement for organic appearance
    • Adds decorative rocks
    • Supports music reactivity
  2. src/foliage/index.js (MODIFIED)

    • Added export for lake_features module
  3. src/world/generation.ts (MODIFIED)

    • Imported createIsland function
    • Added island instantiation at position (-40, 2.5, 40)
    • Increased extrasCount from 20 to 400 for denser foliage
    • Island registered as obstacle with 15-unit radius

  • Island Position: (-40, 2.5, 40) - placed in the lake area
  • Island Size: Radius 15, Height 2
  • Creek: Flowing water path across the island surface
  • Foliage Density: 20x increase (20 → 400 extras)

Technical Details

  • Island uses CylinderGeometry with vertex displacement
  • Creek uses TubeGeometry along CatmullRomCurve3 path
  • Materials leverage TSL (Three.js Shading Language) for effects
  • Proper collision detection and obstacle registration
  • Music reactivity system compatible

The implementation matches the jules-dev3 approach: ✓ Same createIsland function structure ✓ Same position and parameters ✓ Same extrasCount increase ✓ Modular lake_features file ✓ Proper export configuration
