Map multiple keystrokes to mouse button?

Is it possible to map multiple keystrokes or a keystroke combination to a Rival 500's buttons?
For example, "Alt Tab"? Or is it limited to just a single keystroke?

Hello,

It is theoretically possible to press up to 4 buttons at once on most devices but currently this is not supported by Rivalcfg. I do not know why, but the SteelSeries Engine never use this possibility either: when there a key combinations, it consider that it is a macro and do everything by software instead.

Maybe this feature will be added one day but there is a lot of things to work on before that :)

Hi there, thanks for the quick response! Although, sorry, I'm not meaning pressing multiple buttons on the mouse, I'm meaning one mouse button mapping to multiple keystrokes on a keyboard, like Alt+Tab, for example.

And, I'm not sure, but I think I did have multiple keyboard keystrokes bound to at least one button on my Rival 500 (Alt-tab, etc). But I'd initially set it up on MacOS using the Steelseries software, and, interestingly, it seems to have saved the button mappings to the mouse itself since those same keystrokes work on Linux now, which is great. And those mappings are mostly fine, but I'd like to tweak a few of the side buttons, if possible. However, I no longer have (or want) access to MacOS to use the Steelseries software to modify some of the buttons, so I was thinking about giving rivalcfg a try. But I just wanted t conform if it supports multiple keyboard keystrokes (from a single mouse button).

Also, I read this in the rivalcfg for the Rival 500 docs:

All parameters are optional. If you do not define a mapping for a specific button, it will be reset to its default value.

Does this mean that if I do use rivalcfg, and if I don't provide every button with a mapping when running the command (15 buttons in total for this mouse, I think, including TiltLeft and TiltRight) then it will reset that button to its default value? That is, if I omit button 9, for example, then button 9 will go back to whatever the default mapping is?

Sorry I was meaning "simulating 4 keyboard key press at once by pressing on one mouse button" (in French keyboard keys == button ^^').

Yes. It is a limitation because all buttons must be configured at once in a single packet sent to the device.... The GG Engine stores a copy of the configuration on the PC to be able to resend previously configured key bindings when you update one (but if you do so from an other PC, it will reset everything to their default values)

Ah ok, so it's not possible, then? Or is there be a way to map an Alt-Tab keystroke to a mouse button? If so, what would be the syntax to do that?

Sorry, it was Windows, I had dual booted my Mac. It was a few years ago, I forgot ;) But it saved the config on the mouse.

Okay, thanks for confirming that. Does it store the config on the mouse, as well? And, would that replace whatever config is on my mouse at the moment?
