Ah yes those. I've been prototyping with pgmq on another project, masna3, so I'll split off the background job code from that project and import it in Flora when I find it even remotely reliable.

Regarding prometheus in the docker-compose environment, I'm actually working on it and will probably finish next week. But improving the quality of the metrics exported will certainly be something for which I need help (and your help would be most welcome). Happy to talk more about this subject with you. :)

I was curious about it since I'm also switching to pgmq at work, and I wanted to see how others are integrating it with Haskell. I took a look at masna to see if you'd tackled the tricky parts like OpenTelemetry or concurrency (many queues), but it looks like it's still at the basic setup stage for now. Once our implementation is ready, I’ll try to share it, though I’m not sure how useful it’ll be since I’m using hasql.

Unrelated, but I was never able to get flora to build locally on macOS, despite trying many times. I always ran into issues with nix and eventually gave up. I tried again this morning with the help of claude and failed.

I would advise using the docker-compose setup. Since I do not have the means to afford a mac I cannot help debug macOS-specific problems at this time. :/
