Add option to update metrics periodically

Metrics are updated for every event. This is not always necessary and can degrade the performance of Logprep.
It would be good to have the option to aggregate them in memory and update the aggregated metrics periodically.

A specific solution for the generic resolver has been already implemented in #716. This could be used as reference for a generic solution.
