Let the user judge which page seemed faster #2

A couple of ideas:

  • Button over each page saying something like "this side looks finished".
  • Buttons over each page, or perhaps near the share this button saying "this side seemed faster"

The first idea opens the possibility that we could get the specific time when the side appears ready. The downside to this is that perhaps the measure is less reliable.

The second idea is easier from a user's perspective, since it doesn't require them to pay close attention while the pages are loading. I know I might get annoyed that the idea that I missed hitting the button in time. :)

Once we have data on this, it's possible to compare perception vs onload performance, which seems like a pretty important feature for a tool that always runs client side!

How will this interact with serial mode?
