add_self_loops before sampling negative edges

In file utils.py, line 245, add_self_loops is applied on the edge_index before sampling the negative edges.

May I know why should we do this? Will it affect the final results?

May I know why should we do this? Will it affect the final results?

I guess, it is to avoid to sampling negative pairs with the same node-ids, e.g., (0, 0), (1, 1) shall not be sampled as negative pairs. If not add_self_loops, they could be sampled as negative pairs.

Is this understanding correct?
