how to close the channel?

as the title suggests, how do you close a channel?
I am guessing this lib is not maintained, but is it prod ready?

We use this library in production.

With regards to closing a channel, are you needing to temporarily close the channel so you can re-open it, or are you looking to just throw the channel away? If you just want to throw the channel away, explicitly removing all references should mark the channel for GC.
