Let user select an item before the animation finishes?

I often find myself tapping on one of the items before the animation even finishes. Obviously, that tap didn't work because the animation is still going on. I know a lot of people wants to be quick tap on the menu items straight away. So can you add an option to enable user interactions when the animation is going on?
