Using Splice9 as a difftool or for three file operation

I'm not sure what a difftool is supposed to be. There's DirDiff.vim; is that good enough? What's missing in DirDiff. What is it in Splice9 that are features you'd like in a difftool.

I'd like to hear of examples or feature requests.

I just threw sjl/splice.vim#11 in this discussion. It may not belong here; subject to future removal.

There's another issue from the original splice that is probably related

• Splice fails to load if any input file is missing sjl/splice.vim#23

Hmm, sjl/splice.vim#11 and sjl/splice.vim#23 may be closely related. The idea with both of them is handling a different number of files with a change in behavior.
