Remote MCP Server Documentation Claims vs. Actual Compatibility with Claude.ai Web Interface #2

Issue Description

The README describes this as a "remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server" and mentions "Universal Access: Works on desktop, mobile, and web versions of Claude." However, the server doesn't appear to work with Claude.ai's web interface remote connector feature.

Expected Behavior

Based on the documentation claiming this is a remote MCP server with "Universal Access" for "web versions of Claude," I expected to be able to:

  1. Go to Claude.ai → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector
  2. Enter https://youtube-transcript-mcp.ergut.workers.dev/sse as the Remote MCP server URL
  3. See the get_transcript tool become available

Actual Behavior

When adding the URL to Claude.ai web interface's remote connector dialog, I get "No tools available" - the connection appears to succeed but no tools are exposed.

Configuration Attempted

  • Claude Plan: Pro (remote connectors supported)
  • URL Tested: https://youtube-transcript-mcp.ergut.workers.dev/sse
  • Alternative URL Tested: https://youtube-transcript-mcp.ergut.workers.dev/mcp

Web interface compatibility?

  1. Should this work with Claude.ai's web interface remote connector, or is it only compatible with Claude Desktop via the mcp-remote proxy?
  2. Is this a bug on claude.ai or in the current implementation of youtube-transcript-mcp?

Thanks for creating this tool!
