ppcaltivec plugin not built for 9.0

I've not done Xenon reversing for years, but looking at the processor options in IDA 9 for BE PPC, they have altivec and VMX128 extensions supported.

The only thing that might be missing is SPR names, if you are doing any reversing of the bootloaders or HV. Though looking at cfg/ppc.cfg in IDA, the Xenon SPRs look to be defined already (and you could define any extras that are missing).

So no, I don't think the plugin is needed anymore.
