Requesting a new release

The last release was in Dec 2023, and there have been some new features since then. Specifically, I'd like to use the new functionality from #129. A new release would be much appreciated.

@tmccombs previous releases shipped official signed tarball. Could you confirm it was discontinued?

Unfortunately, I don't have the signing key for that. I think @emersion would need to upload that.

Sorry, but I don't think we were ready for a new release. There is a bunch of stuff in the master branch that doesn't have the level of quality and maturity that I strive for.

I've marked v1.6 as a pre-release for now. I will likely un-publish it.

@tmccombs, I really appreciate your contributions, but please communicate more about your intents before acting.
