Getting the consul sample to work on a Mac

Hi

Thank you for providing the consul sample. I have been trying to get it to work with not that much luck. All I end up with is the nginx welcome screen, so it appears that it is not using the consul-template to rewrite the nginx config. I have verified that the config is in the container in /etc.

Any ideas on why this would be?

Consul-ui is working and registering the services correctly.

Actually i figured it out. The sample app is not correctly configured. The conslu-template run command is referencing the wrong folder. Anyway, I built it from the DockerFile and all is working now :)

Hi @nhuray I can't make a pull request as it is in the actual image you have a problem with. If you go into the sample folder and do a

docker-compose up

and then do a

docker exec -it <container id of nginx image> bash

The problem is in the /etc/services.d/consul-template/run file. If you see it references consul-templates and not consul-template. I tried changing the folder to template but it still did not work. You might be able to get it working though. You have the correct configuration in the next folder up of your repo (here: https://github.com/1science/docker-nginx/blob/latest/consul/etc/services.d/consul-template/run).

So I made the docker container and uploaded it to my hub and all is well. So you just need to remake the image and upload it, or change the consul-template in the /etc folder.
