  • Django 3.2 deployed

    We would like Django 3.2 to be on production on all edx.org services by this date so we have a little time to shake out any remaining issues that may crop up after deployment before cutting branches for the Open edX Maple release.

  • Django 3.2 ready for deployment

    We'd like all of the Open edX code to be successfully passing tests with Django 3.2 by the end of September, so October can be allocated to fixing any issues that sneak past test suites and aren't identified until we actually attempt to deploy them.

  • Django 3.2 deprecation warnings fixed

    We'd like the bulk of deprecation warnings to be fixed by the end of August, so we can focus on testing and fixing any remaining tricky aspects of the upgrade in September. Ideally, most of our dependencies should also be upgraded to versions that explicitly support Django 3.2 by this time as well.

  • Django 3.2 upgrade scripts applied

    Applicable code refactoring and CI matrix update scripts from https://github.com/edx/repo-tools/tree/master/edx_repo_tools/codemods/django3 should be run by the end of July if practical. This will fix many deprecation warnings with minimal effort and should help determine where further work is still needed.
