Connecting Hawkbit with Hono

Currently I am trying to run Eclipse IoT and communicate with my RP3-Edge device. I am just wondering if it is possible to connect Hawkbit with Hono. Since my RP3 is already connected with hono. That means the RP3-Edge does not need DDI-Api anymore and just uses MQTT for communication! Is it somehow possible to connect Hawkbit with hono?

At the moment there is no out of the box support for connecting Hono directly to hawkBit. The only option you'd have as of today is to provide your own MQTT connector on top of hawkBit's DMF API. However some discussions around this topic already started (cf. #890)
