Previously viewed/labeled messages no longer loading in appraisal

In the appraisal module, messages that have previously loaded correctly are not loading again when I refresh or otherwise return to the same set of emails. The issue seems to arise only after I have added labels to some or all messages in the set I'm trying to view.

I am not viewing large subsets of the inbox (e.g., under 100 messages, no attachments), so an issue with loading due to volume is unlikely. I also do not believe the issue is with the original files since they load fine before being tagged.

Possibly a browser or Java issue?

There are privacy restrictions, so I won't be able to share it for testing. Do you think updating Chrome would help? I plan to try that today.

I don’t think this is a Chrome-specific issue, although clearing the browser cache is worth trying.

Could you clarify what you mean by 'set of emails'? For example, is this a search result, a folder, or another filtered view?

Also, after adding labels and refreshing the browser, do the messages fail to load entirely, or is the result set empty?

By set of emails I mean a subset of emails such as, for example, going to Browse > Correspondents > selecting a correspondent from the list to view all messages to/from that correspondent. When I do this, the messages load as normal and I'm able to label them using the bulk label option or by individually assigning labels.

If I later try to review the same set of messages after adding labels and saving in ePADD and/or refreshing the browser, in almost every case the screen shows an active loading screen with the "Loading XYZ messages" (with animated ePADD logo) but they never actually load. Along the left-hand side, I'm able to see the labels that have been applied as well as all the usual info (correspondents, attachments, folders, etc.).

This has been happening with sets of messages both when only some messages have been labeled and also when all messages have been labeled. I've been using various labels, both general and restriction-type (Do Not Transfer, Reviewed, Cleared for Release, and a couple others I've created).

As described in my other example above, if I navigate to Browse > Manage Labels > and select any of the above labels to view the labeled messages, I get the same non-loading loading issue.

I ended up needing to reinstall Chrome in order to update it. I've tested the above again and am still having the issue after reinstalling, so it looks like the browser issue can be ruled out.

P.S. - In case it is worth noting, I have also experienced an unrelated glitch when using the 'previous message' arrow button while reviewing messages. Sometimes, using the previous message arrow the number will only change the previous message's number displayed along the top but the message itself won't change (i.e., it will keep displaying the message I had been viewing when I clicked the arrow). I haven't tested for this since reinstalling Chrome.

After launching it, click on a correspondent and reproduce the issue.
Once the issue occurs, please send the epadd.log.warnings file.

How do you start ePADD? By double-clicking the JAR file, or via console (java -jar epad-standalone.jar)?

Do you then:

Click the “Correspondents” tile
Select a correspondent
Navigate messages using the left/right arrows
Add labels
Click “Save” to save the archive

What do you do after saving?

Do you close ePADD? If so, how exactly:
Using “Quit ePADD” from the Windows taskbar?
Stopping it in the console?
Or another method?

What are the next steps after that?
