SPI for Climate models: Setting a baseline period

Hi thanks for the code, great tool. Can I just check I am hoping to use this to calculate SPI for future climate projections using the SPI factor calculated from a historic baseline period. Is this possible with this code?

I need this feature too and I am going to implement it in my fork.
