Tailor bullet point content to better match job descriptions #25

Description

@dsmithnautel

Summary

Instead of just selecting which bullets to include, actively rewrite and optimize bullet content to better match JD requirements while preserving factual accuracy.

Current Behavior

  • System selects existing bullets verbatim
  • No modification to wording or emphasis
  • May miss keyword matches due to phrasing differences

Proposed Features

Content Rewriting

  • Rewrite bullets to incorporate JD keywords naturally
  • Emphasize relevant skills mentioned in JD
  • Adjust action verbs to match JD language
  • Optimize for ATS keyword scanning

Wording Optimization

  • Improve clarity and impact
  • Tighten verbose descriptions
  • Strengthen weak action verbs
  • Quantify results where possible

Hallucination Prevention (Critical)

  • Compare rewritten bullet to original - flag significant deviations
  • Require all facts/numbers to exist in original
  • Show diff between original and rewritten for user approval
  • Confidence score for how much content changed
  • Option to revert to original
  • Store both original and tailored versions

User Controls

  • Toggle tailoring on/off per bullet
  • Aggressiveness slider (light touch vs heavy rewrite)
  • Review and approve all rewrites before export
  • Edit rewritten content manually

Implementation Notes

  • Use structured prompts that constrain LLM to factual content
  • Extract facts from original, then rewrite around those facts
  • Never add skills, metrics, or experiences not in original

Priority

Medium - significant feature but requires careful implementation
