How to use this module?

I have a fbsmp module which uses ctools as a dependency and I want it to be fieldable. The module is not an entity. How to use ctools field with fbsmp? FBSMP allows to attach links, videos, photos with statuses, but I guess these aren't even files. I do not know what it is.

It is not an entity, as the name of the module says, it is a field. Attach the field to your entity, then the author can select the ctools element he wants to place.
