Epileptic screen blackening & completely unresponsive comp on first run of new build

For the second time my laptop flipped out and crashed the first time it ran a newly pulled build. The good news is it only happens the first run through. Also my laptop aint no spring chicken so hopefully this issue is completely on my end, but I'm recording it here none the less.

This is the entire screen and not just the OpenGL window?

Yup. And alt+command+esc has no effect.
