Why just drains? Why not septic systems or sewers or new gadgets or devices? #2

First of all, it is primarily an AI/ML exercise based upon application of the TRIZ contradiction matrix of applied problem solving, which is about applied combinatorics of using existing tools and methods, but perhaps applying them in a creative or handy matter.

People with extensive experience and expertise, eg building supervisors, plumbers, experienced landlords, knowledgeable homeowners will have already done exactly this exercise which would effectively obviate any need for them bothering with the results of what this exercise might yield. The results of this recommendation engine are mainly for noobs or perhaps others looking for a new technique.

The most important facet of project management is scope management. Obviously, drain contents end up in sewer systems, but as interesting and beguiling as civil engineering and municipal sewer system management might be, this focus of this exercise will be constrained by the typical propertyowner's responsibility. Physically, this boundary is at property line or confined to what the property owner can do without some sort of public cooperation.

We will also constrain our examination to the typical conventional range of solutions, ie we will not be developing new products or technologies although our efforts might make it apparent that there is sufficient need for something that does X.

In order to fundraise for anything like cloud compute time or other minimal expenses associated with this exercise, we will use affiliate marketing avenues and adwords to monetize the project. Those affiliate programs themselves will provide inputs to the development of the overall algorithm, ie businesses that want to advertise solutions might actually have products that are worth at least looking at.

The overall exercise is not really any different than a propertyowner looking for ideas to fix a drain issue ... it's just an attempt to use AI/ML on a ubiquitous, utilitarian problem that most people would gladly rather avoid, rather than on the game of chess or GO or to develop a virtual AI friend rather than interact or play a game as a basis exploring new personalities and intellects of friends and acquaintances.

Perhaps more people would rather avoid the tedium and uncertainty of making new living friends and thus need a computer for an opponent to play games like chess or GO ... than they would avoid the tedium and uncertainty of drain problem ... but THAT also is outside the scope of this exercise.
