Signature V1 being deprecated #7

Just saw this come into my inbox:

Due to mandate from our security team, we are deprecating signature version v1. We will implement the deprecation in 2 phases. First, the NA endpoint for Sandbox will stop accepting request signed with v1 effective 12/18/2012 in order to prevent customers from developing/integrating using v1 during their Sandbox testing for their future Production use. Second phase, the NA endpoint for Production will stop accepting request signed with v1 during end of Q1 of 2013 (exact date will be announced in early 2013). If you are using Query Method, you will need to change the signature from v1 to v2. You do NOT need to make any change if you are making API calls using SOAP as SOAP only accepts signature v2. However, we would recommend making plan to migrate to Query, if possible, as we have plan to deprecate SOAP in the near future.
