Importing MNIST loader

With regard to the MNIST dataset example, I am having trouble loading the data. Despite the fact that I have the mnist_loader.py file in my Week 3 notebook, I keep getting this message:

Not sure what the issue is just yet, but one possibility is that not all of the files properly loaded onto your computer. I would check in the dmc/notebooks/week 3 folder in your finder and make sure all of the MNIST data is there. It should look like this:

One note - the .pyc file is created during execution of the .py script, so you don't necessarily need to have it before running the example. The mnist_loader.py script does all the data loading, so as long as you have it and the .gz file in the /data folder it should work. If it still doesn't work you can try to take the code from the mnist_loader.py script and recreate it in your own notebook. This would be a good way to get more familiar with working with data in Python!
