Data Volumes #1

Hey,
I try to understand how docker works especially together which spigot and I found this wonderful guide. The only problem I have are the Data Volumes. Maybe I didn't get anything, but the guide said that there are two volumes A) /opt/minecraft and B) /var/lib/minecraft. First, the directorys aren't existing second obviously they are empty. The Servers are running correctly and anything seems to be fine, but the volumes are empty.
Please Help!
