FATAL ERROR: MemManage after display.init()

After flashing the board with one of the two most binaries from the most recent release and connecting via screen, i get this issue with activating the display:

MicroPython v1.10-1183-g4c4c72ef9 on 2022-09-06; F469DISC with STM32F469
Type "help()" for more information.

Is that due to the hardware?

This does not happen with v1.2.1 but the display does not activate with that version either. Micropython simply returns from that call:

The current state of master fixes this issue. I guess we need a new release!
