Image styling in user-manual is broken

The #+attr_html: :width annotations used have no effect, at a minimum we should just drop them.

The #+attr_html: :width annotations used have no effect, at a minimum we should just drop them.

They are emitted into the HTML, but Pandoc puts them on the figure element wrapping the img, which does not work, because AFAIK figure does not have a width attribute.

The actual styling is done via CSS and seems intentional, so in this sense I would say image styling works, but there are apparently useless width annotations.

Were you trying to achieve something in particular that you could not?

Yeah, I tried :width 30% / :width 300px / :align center, none of which do anything, even though in theory they should: https://orgmode.org/manual/Images.html

I think this is a pandoc issue. I find no exact match, but close matches in its issues: https://github.com/jgm/pandoc/issues?q=is%3Aissue%20state%3Aopen%20attr_html

I would suggest to drop the width definitions we have now. I think the vkb image renders fine as is in the PDF.

When we do want to style the figure elements:

• Maybe #+attr_html: :style ... works?
• Apply classes to the figure instead (also via attr_html)
