When running an event, the distance being used for widgets does not align with the distance listed in the application header. This is the same as the companion app and the in-game splits window, but it means finish time predictions for the event are wrong.
I'm guessing this is based on the lead-in that events have making them longer than advertised, even though the time getting the the actual start is counted in the finish time (at least for the TFA events, races should act differently)
