Specifications for running 4CAT on desktop/laptop #558

|
I am a PhD student looking to use 4CAT for my project, and I/my university need to purchase a desktop/laptop for my research. They've asked if there are references/recommendations I can pass on in terms of compute power and specifications for a device. Any advice would be so helpful! |

Hi Katie, we have a page for hardware requirements here: https://github.com/digitalmethodsinitiative/4cat/wiki/What-hardware-do-I-need-to-run-4CAT%3F Your use case will always be unique, of course, e.g. if you are intending to use massive datasets or want to lean heavily on local LLMs. |
