Getting started with GSplus

Hello there fellow apple iigs enthusiasts! I have downloaded the gsplus files and started it up, but I'm unsure what to do next. I'm a luddite and could use some help. I have put the rom1 and rom 3 in the folder. It brings me to the two screens, one showing code on the left, and the other showing the iigs blue screen on the right, with an asterisk and a cursor waiting for me to type something. Help!

Sorry there's not much of a community for this project these days. Hopefully you got it up and running almost a year ago. When an Apple shows the * prompt, you are in the Monitor. To simply boot a disk in slot 6, type 6 Ctrl-P Return.
You can also exit to Basic with Ctrl-B Return and type PR#6 Return to boot.

To "insert" a disk image (if you haven't already), hit F4 and enter Disk Configuration. Most of the Apple II disks out there seem to universally prefer Slot 6 (especially Pascal disks). You'll mostly put them in s6d1 for a boot disk and s6d2 for a "saving" disk.

If you don't want the Apple to go to the Monitor with every startup, in GSplus enter the Desk Accessories. On Windows, hold Alt-Windows-Esc. On Mac OS, hold Command-Option-Esc. Enter Control Panel. Go to Slots. Arrow down to Startup and using the left or right arrow keys, select Slot 6 or whatever you want to start from. Be sure to press Return to save it. Then hit Esc Return Esc Return to exit the Desk Accessories. Now the Apple will boot from that slot automatically.
