Compiling with partials

Is there a way to compile the template such that the partials are provided at compiletime, rather than runtime? Would make it easier for us to manage components dependent upon other components.

There's not really a way to provide the partials at compile time, though I'm not quite understanding your use case on this. What you could do, is if you chain the html loader then you could use require to load another part of the template, but the syntax would be slightly different then a hogan partial.

I mean, I have a template, it uses partials. It would be easier to use this template if I didn't have to pass in the partials to template.render every time I called it.

I was just figuring something like the shortcut function hack could be used to pass partials into the function automatically. Does Hogan provide a way of exposing what partials are required?

Sorry I can't think of a good way for the loader to handle this. If you're using the same partials every time in a given template then like I mentioned require would be a good way to go. If each page has their own partials for the same views, then you could wrap your own function at the top of the page that's using the view.

If you have an idea for how the loader could handle this I'd be interested to hear it and would consider implementing it or consider a PR.

I guess my thinking as as follows:

This line compiles the partial. My assumption is that the compiled template has some information about what partials are required by the current template, which the loader could require itself.

You'd have to manipulate the resulting Hogan.Template object, to provide the partials to it, before returning it in the compiled module function, but may be doable? Does that make sense? I may take a stab at this myself.

Hi @goloroden no real update yet, could you provide a sample project with your use case, it might help me visualize a good way to design the interface.
