Display next upcoming game when no game today?

This might be easiest for NFL and NCAAF if the API call returns a week at a time.

Would still need to update the display to show the day of the game.

It would be nice to have a configuration on how far forward to look. I use this for a handful of teams that I follow, and it would be nice to know when the next game is - maybe it's only 24 or 48 hours or something.

This makes sense. If I have time to implement (or someone else does), I'll look into it. The only thing I'd ask is that it be an optional additional feature where the default would be something like looking 0 days ahead (today only), and the user would have the option to look x days ahead if they want. I also try to minimize API calls, so ideally it would look ahead only once since the future games are not going to be updated on any kind of regular basis.

I'd have to give some thought as to whether this would be a global option (set it for every sport), or something you could configure on a sport-by-sport basis. I think the sports sub-config is already a bit convoluted, so I'd rather not add to that, but I could see some benefit to specifying the look-ahead only on some sports. E.g., I do not want to know the next 3 upcoming MLB games because I know they happen every damn day.

I think 0 days ahead makes sense as the default, and it would be good to configure by sports, because it gives the greatest flexibility without filling your screen full of Pirates games... :-)

I wouldn't do it by team, but if my config was:

league: "NHL",
teams: "PIT",
daysAhead: 1
},
{
league: "NFL",
teams: "PIT",
daysAhead: 4
}

Then I could see just the next penguins game (as they're often back to back), and the next steelers game, which will be at least 4 days out.

If you wanted to get really over convoluted, you could set a limit of games to display per league as well...

I suppose it depends also if you look at the whole league's games, or whether you're just looking at a subset of teams across many leagues.

Hi - I'm not a dev and I'm new to code, Magic Mirror, GitHub, etc.

I had a similar thought about if there was a way to filter or only show instances of games that are scheduled to start (and then start) between a certain time of day. This would be for the purpose of NCAAF on Saturdays, having instances where you can show all of the 12:00 games, and then all of the 3:30 games, etc in different instances instead of using the scroll feature to scroll through all of the games which can be quite lengthy. Obviously this is way past my threshold of knowledge of something I could develop.

With that being said for the opposite scenario, when there's no games for the day, it would be nice to be able to see next games coming up the next day, or later in the week.

I've enjoyed using your modules and using them as a tool to teach myself about code, css formatting, and other things as a hobby over the past few months. Thank you!

This is a neat idea, but I think it would take some serious re-thinking of the app (or at least the config options). I'm going to move it to a new issue, but don't expect movement on it immediately.
