URL validation for the public profile details is not working properly

When the user enters their online profile details, sometimes there is an error message that the input is not valid
example:
https://test.com sometimes throws an error
https://test.com/ sometimes throws an error

Angular form validation returns a random result depending of how we fill out the form.
When the user copy-pastes the URL, sometimes it doesn't have the expected behaviour for the validation
