[Feature Request] Standadrd Mode: Pin Specific Files

Let me use an example to explain my FR:

🅰️ This is my most recent notes when I open the Standard Mode modal:

1️⃣ NoteA.md
2️⃣ NoteB.md
3️⃣ NoteC.md
4️⃣ NoteD.md
5️⃣ NoteE.md

🅱️ I have two notes that important to me:

✴️ SpecialNoteA.md
✴️ SpecialNoteB.md

My FR is a Standard Mode modal with 🅰️ + 🅱️. In other words: a modal where I have my most recent notes and in the end of the modal or the last items in the modal specific notes that I defined in the QS++ settings as important/pinned notes that will always appears in the end of the of the Standard Modal.

Standard Mode Modal:

1️⃣ NoteA.md
2️⃣ NoteB.md
3️⃣ NoteC.md
4️⃣ NoteD.md
5️⃣ NoteE.md
✴️ SpecialNoteA.md
✴️ SpecialNoteB.md

Questions that you might ask:

1️⃣ Why don’t you Bookmark SpecialNoteA.md and SpecialNoteB.md

The idea here is NOT too combine Standard Mode with Bookmarks Mode.
It just a way to have maybe 2,3 4 important notes pinned to the Standard Mode for quick access

I have a lot of Bookmarked notes chosen based on workflow criteria.

Standard mode is my first mode (mode that is attached to a hotkey) and I really miss a way to have fixed notes that I know that will be always there when that are not the recent notes.

2️⃣ What happens to SpecialNoteA.md and SpecialNoteB.md when they are one of the most recent notes?

SpecialNoteA.md and SpecialNoteB.md will always be showed in the end of the modal even if they are the most e recent notes.

In other words the most recent notes will always be filtered by the pinned notes SpecialNoteA.md and SpecialNoteB.md

Thanks for the feature request! I'm reluctant to implement something like this because there's so much overlap with several other existing concepts:

a) Bookmarks as you've already called out is intended to be used for this purpose
b) The recent files list already displays your recently used items
c) Editors themselves can be pinned in Obsidian
d) The open editors list displays all open panes (including side panels)
e) Workspaces can be used for specific configurations, e.g have your "pinned" files pinned somewhere in a Workspace sidebar, or split pane, or whatever

Command Mode enables you to "pin" commands because that's a core Obsidian functionality, and does not overlap with a bunch of other concepts.

One thing your feature request has brought to light though is that currently Editor List mode does not treat pinned Editors in Obsidian any differently than unpinned ones. So something new that could be implemented is reflecting the pinned state of Editors in the Switcher similar for how pinned commands are handled (have them always displayed at the top of the Editor List).

I read all your thoughts and I understand that in high quality that QS++ achieved after all these years, adding new features could generate some degree of overlap of concepts.

• More about concept below;

The main idea here is to give some power to users like me that heavily rely on Standard Mode as my main command.

• I have all recent notes ready for action and a input if I need to open a specific note.

To complete my standard workflow with Standard Mode (which already gives me recent files and a input) I am asking for a way to “pin” specific notes to this modal. Because are notes that I would like to see when I am seeing my recent notes.

The concept that I am trying to explain is that they are emergency notes. These notes are more important then the Boomarked notes and need to be always ready to be open

• They are 3/5 notes that I really need to have when opening my main modal.

One thing your feature request has brought to light though is that currently Editor List mode does not treat pinned Editors in Obsidian any differently than unpinned ones.
