clarification about linkingto

I currently have linkingto: dqrng, BH, sitmo in my description file. I'm pretty sure I copied that off an old dqrng vignette. The current dqrng vignette doesn't mention linking to sitmo anymore except when using the threefry engine (or I might have misread before), but it does say: "You have to link to the BH package as well to use dqrng’s distribution functions".

I tried removing both BH and sitmo from the linkingto field and my package seems to compile and load just fine. My cpp files include the following

#include <dqrng_distribution.h>

dqrng::uniform_distribution
dqrng::normal_distribution
dqrng::xoshiro256plus

Could you clarify when it is necessary to also link to BH and when not?

It makes sense that sitmo is not needed in your usecase. I am surpprised that BH is not needed. I will investigate this and come back to you.
