Flash Bang screen while loading

While loading for the homepage to load, there is a screen of white that just flashes on the screen for half a second. It's very bright and another new tab addon has an option that allows you to change the colour of the page while loading. would it be possible to add this?

I notice this too. Any chance of a fix? Thank you for your work.
