Description

@mazzz1y

Hi everyone using NativeAlpha, or anyone interested in similar projects.

First, I want to say thank you to the NativeAlpha developers for their work, and I apologize if this post is not appropriate here.
I'd like to share a hard fork of NativeAlpha. It has the same overall goal, but it's simpler, more polished, and includes many improvements.

If you'd like to try it, you can find it here: https://github.com/mazzz1y/peel

Here's a list of differences compared to NativeAlpha

Removed Features

  • Ad blocking
  • Multi-touch gestures (2-finger navigation, 3-finger app switching, 2-finger reload)
  • Custom WebView context menu pop-up
  • Automatic creation of desktop icons for apps

Added Features

  • Material Design 3 dynamic color support
  • More reliable UUID-based app storage
  • Web-app reordering
  • Backups now include webapp positions in the list and images
  • Persistent notification with Home/Share/Reload actions
  • Optional pull-to-refresh
  • More reliable icon fetching
  • Letter icon generator
  • Per-webapp setting overrides
  • Custom HTTP header map (replaces the dedicated user-agent setting)
  • Always-use-HTTPS upgrade setting
  • Disable screenshots setting (FLAG_SECURE)
  • Long-press link sharing
